The building. A former warehouse off Flaxley Parkway in Stechford, east Birmingham, taken on by Dome Leisure Group and being converted rather than built from scratch.
The plan. Eight indoor courts under the existing roof, with a cafe, changing rooms, studio and community rooms, and a free car park at the front.
Where it is now. Fit-out is under way. Courts and equipment have started arriving on site.
What is open. A register-interest list at domepadelltd.com, and social channels documenting the build.
Why Stechford. Birmingham has very few padel courts for a city its size, and the site sits close to the A47 with rail and bus links nearby.
Still to confirm. Opening date, membership pricing, coaching programme and operating hours. We will announce these rather than trail them.

DOME PADEL is an indoor padel centre being built at Unit H, Flaxley Parkway, Stechford, Birmingham B33 9AN. The venue will bring eight indoor padel courts under one roof, alongside dedicated disabled padel provision, a cafe, studio and community rooms, and a free car park on site. It is operated by Dome Leisure Group. The aim is to make padel available to the whole city, from people who have never picked up a racket to players who want somewhere serious to train.
